MARIAN L. PRINCE, age 84, formerly of Ithaca and Homer, NY died December 23, 2007 at the Cortland Care Center after a period of declining heath. Mrs. Prince was born August 17, 1923 at Dryden a daughter of the late Claude and Bessie Starks Morse. She was raised in Ithaca, NY and was married to Charles Purcell who died in 1965. She and Mr. Purcell operated a dairy farm at Lake Ridge, Lansing, NY for many years. Later she married Arnold Prince who passed away in 1994. Marian was also employed at Cornell University. Marion loved to fish and bake and play cards.
Survivors include her children, Sharon (Arland) Berlew of Homer, Charlie (Gladys) Purcell of Genoa, John (Elona) Purcell of Morrisville, NC and Mildred "Penny" Adams of Ithaca; a sister, Doris Otis of Oklahoma; six grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Friday, Dec. 28, 2007 at the Perkins Funeral Home with Rev. Alan Kinney officiating. Burial, delayed until spring will be in Green Hills Cemetery, Dryden. Memorials are graciously directed to the SPCA of Cortland Co. 879 McLean Road, Cortland, NY 13045.
