ITHACA, NY - G. Patrick Mesmer, age 65, of 13 Tannery Circle, Dryden, NY died Friday, May 7, 2004 at Cayuga Medical Center at Ithaca, NY after a one year illness. "Pat" was born George Patrick Mesmer, a son of the late George and Jane Bower Mesmer. He was a life area resident and retired from Emerson Power Transmission in 2001 after 36 years employment. He was a quality control and test engineer. In retirement he was employed at Perkins Funeral Home. Pat was an active member of Dryden Footlighters and was in many stage shows and musicals with several other groups as well, including Hangar Ithaca, Syracuse Stage and Cortland Repertory Theater. He played in the Monday Night Mens Golf League and was league secretary for 30 years. He was a member of The First Presbyterian Church of Dryden and served a term on the Dryden Village Board. Pat was one of a kind, a gregarious person, a friend to everyone who met him, and a wonderful husband, brother, father and grandfather. If you knew Pat, you were increased greatly by his friendship.

Survivors include his loving wife of 30 years, Johanna Swanson Mesmer of Dryden; his son, Patrick S. (Patricia) Mesmer of Stuart, FL; his daughter, Kim E. Marcus of Port St. Lucie, FL; his step-son, Douglas B. (Sharon) Graham of Harford; his brothers, Michael (Angela) Mesmer of Trumansburg and John (Rita) Ragan of Denver, CO; five grandchildren, Steven, Jeffrey, Rachael, Jack and Kimmy; nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be at 7 PM Monday, May 10, 2004 at The First Presbyterian Church of Dryden with Rev. David C. Robinson officiating. Burial will be private in Green Hills Cemetery, Dryden. There are no calling hours. The family will receive their friends at church after the memorial service. Those wishing to remember Pat are asked to consider memorials to Hospicare, 172 W.
