DRYDEN, NY - On Sunday morning January 4, 2004, Dora Chase peacefully departed this life to be with her Lord and Savior. She died at home surrounded by family, and in the arms of her beloved husband of 56 years, Ron.

"She watches over the ways of her household.... Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praised her: ‘Many daughters have done well, but you excel them all’" (Prov. 31)

Born April 25, 1926 in Johnson City, NY, she was the daughter of the late George and Viola Aumic Palmer.

Dora, a true woman of valor, was unselfish and forgiving, a real servant in the manner of Jesus. She will be dearly missed by her husband, Ronald C. Chase of Dryden; children, Bonnie L. Chase of Richardson, TX, William (Nancy) Chase of Dryden, NY, Jay Chase of Farmington, NY, Brian Chase of Tampa, FL; cherished friend and adopted daughter, Marcia Bernhardt of Richardson, TX; grandchildren, Susan L. Chase of Dryden, NY, Deborah A. Miller of Cortland, NY, Casey J. Chase and Corey J. Chase both of Dryden, NY; great grandson, Joshua Benjamin of Dryden, NY; brother, Richard "Sonny" (Rose) Palmer of Johnson City, NY; sister-in-law, Jacqueline Palmer of Zephyrhills, FL; brother-in-law, David L. (Lorraine) Chase of Binghamton and cousin, Freida Burns of Binghamton, NY.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, January 7, 2004 at Perkins Funeral Home, 55 West Main St., Dryden, NY with Rev. Brian Humphreys officiating. Spring burial will be in Green Hills Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. on Tuesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospicare, 172 East King Rd., Ithaca, NY 14850.
