Carroll B. Scriber

August 10, 2007

CARROLL B. SCRIBER,age 92, of 702 Valley Road,

Brooktondale, NY passed away Friday, August 10, 2007 at Lakeside Nursing Home, Ithaca, NY after a lengthy

illness. Carroll was born in Rochester, NY a son of the

late Arthur and Kate Calvert Scriber. He was raised in

Oswego, NY and was graduated from (SUNY) Oswego

State Normal School with a degree in Industrial Arts.

Carroll was a certified teacher having been employed in

Newington, CT, Richfield Springs, Geneva and Vestal, NY.

Later he was employed as a draftsman for Link Aviation,

IBM Corp., and retired from Cornell University. He was a member of the Brooktondale Baptist Church for more than 50 years. Carroll was involved with the Christian School and was the Sunday School Bus Driver for many years.

Survivors include his loving wife of 69 years, Katherine Schadt Scriber at home, his son, Richard (Christine) Scriber of Brooktondale; a daughter, Jean Scriber of Brooktondale; grandchildren, Rebecca Scriber of Ithaca, Daniel Scriber of Spotsylvania, VA, Dale (Brenda) Scriber of Fayetteville, NC and David (Farida) Scriber of Marietta, GA; nine great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Memorial Services will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, August 15, 2007 at the Brooktondale Baptist Church, Slaterville Rd, Brooktondale, NY. Burial will follow in Quick Cemetery, Brooktondale. Friends may call from 1 to 2 PM Wednesday at the church. Memorials in Carroll’s name may be sent to Brooktondale Baptist Church, P.O. Box 144, Brooktondale, NY 14817.
